“The Starved and The Starless”

The sky might be dark and empty,
But the streets are full of stars.
Fallen they may be but to them, it is who they are

Set me free, push me out of this papercut out called a life, they say to me.
Make me whole, make me complete, like the death of the son, the evil has won,
All innocence is gone.

Drag the dead, drop their bombs, upon my immaculate, diamond coated arms.
I’ll bleed rubies, I’m fools gold.
The routine never gets old
So let the cliché unfold

So let’s make the most of tonight
Since everything here, is not alright.
I’m not, what I was before
I still need, want, so much more, standing at the gates, behind these locked doors.

Set me free, push me out of this papercut out called a life, I say to me.
Make me whole, make me complete, I’m not happy here, misery my siren song,
My innocence is gone.

Drag the dead, drop their bombs, upon my immaculate, diamond coated arms.
I’ll bleed rubies, I’m fools gold.
My story never gets old, so let my cliché continue unfold.

I have peaked; this is the last you will ever see,
Of the once righteous me, all that’s left is selfish and greedy.
Before, when I was whole, nothing seemed as cold
As the acrid blue blood racing inside me.

Set me free, push me out of this papercut out called a life, I yell aloud.
Make me whole, make me complete, I’m falling to pieces, the light is out of my reach
All innocence is gone.
So, let the sin-filled preach.

Trade off dreams, for lead role in empty space
While the dream given up is left without a face;
Or a body to claim the name of its soul
Now just a black hole
We’ve given it up.
I am back on the pedestal
Ready to practice my fall.

Flag me down, beat me senseless, make me pay for my sinful wishes. Pearly white are these tears.
I’ll bleed rubies, I’m fools gold.
This is what it’s like to be me,
Inside this starless city.
